SCEE has announced that it will extend the Home beta testing throughout the summer of 2008 right up until the end of the year. So it looks like we will have to wait unitl christmas time to get a look at our new virtual living rooms 😦
President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, Kazuo Hirai had this to say
We understand that we are asking PS3 and prospective users to wait a bit longer, but we have come to the conclusino that we need more time to refine the service to ensure a more focused gaming entertainment experience than what it is today.
Our overarching objective is to provide users with new game experiences that are available only on PLAYSTATION Home. Spending more time on the development and on the Closed Beta testing reaffirms our commitment to bringing a quality service, maintaining the Playstation Tradition.
